People on training courses at Business Edge will become increasingly familiar with these rigs built by Bitzer for, among other courses, F-gas training and certification.

Bitzer has designed and built rigs for F-gas training and certification courses given by Business Edge. The rigs are also being use for other practical air-conditioning and refrigeration courses run by Business Edge.

Mike Creamer, managing director of Business Edge, and Kelvin Kelly, training and business manager, drew up the circuit and component specification and technical requirements for the training rigs, based on experience in using such equipment over many years. The design also had to comply with strict specifications set out by Construction Skills, the authorising certification body. Electrical safety and functionality also had to be considered

The reputation of Business Edge is such that the company is expected to provide training and certification courses of the highest standard. Mike Creamer says, ‘We saw the implementation of new equipment as being a key requirement. Moreover, we wished to run the intensive training and certification process over the minimum number of days, and thus the accessibility and efficiency of the equipment was paramount.

‘It is essential for candidates to remove and replace components throughout the certification process, and the durability of the training rigs was considered extremely important. We are absolutely delighted with the quality of the Bitzer workmanship and will consider Bitzer for similar requirements in the future.’
