Oventrop valves take control of heating for the redevelopment of Rochford Hospital

Oventrop valves have been entrusted with the control of heating and hot-water systems throughout redevelopment work at Rochford Hospital.
Oventrop vales have been used exclusively throughout a redevelopment at Rochford Hospital in Essex. The P21 redevelopment scheme comprises five separate buildings on the same site with single- and 2-storey developments served by three main plant rooms. This hospital provides mental-health services for adults and older people. Services consultants were Fabermaunsell. The trust is transforming its mental-health services to provide upgraded facilities to meet future needs. The redevelopment of Rochford hospital is one of several major projects in this programme and will provide over a hundred beds for adult and older people for inpatient care. Oventrop valves are used for hydronic balancing and gas service in sizes from 15 to 150 mm. 250 Brawamix thermostatic control valves were chosen for shower and hand-wash outlets to ensure a maximum temperature of 43°C at hot-water outlets. WRAS-approved fittings are used for domestic cold water. Radiators in the catering building are controlled by Oventrop thermostatic radiator and lockshield valves. The redevelopment comprises five separate buildings arrange as single- and 2-story developments served by three main plant rooms. The Cedar Ward and therapy suite, which is part existing and part new build, has underfloor heating and radiant panels. It shares a plant room with the reconnecting Beech and Maple Wards, which are served by radiators. Underfloor heating is used throughout the 2-storey Willow and Poplar Wards. A catering and facilities-management building has its own plant room, radiant panels and radiators. A refurbished 2-storey office development has a dedicated plant room and radiators in its 25 rooms. The Cedar Ward and therapy suite is part existing and part new build and has underfloor heating.
