Heat-recovery air conditioning features in Glasgow office refurbishment

The refurbishment of this office building in Glasgow includes Daikin VRV heat-recovery air-conditioning on three floors
The refurbishment of three floors of the office building at 225 Bath Street in Glasgow includes the installation of Daikin VRV heat-recovery air conditioning on three floors. The systems were specified by consultants K. J. Tait and installed by Brevel Environmental of Glasgow. Each of the three floors offers flexibility of layout to suit uses such as call centres, mixed administrative or cellular formats. They have metal tiled suspended ceilings and visually pleasing formats. Five REYQ VRV systems are allocated to each floor and supply conditioned air via 115 FXKQ ceiling-suspended fan-coil units, chosen because of the shallow ceiling voids. VRV branch selector boxes are contained within purpose-designed ceiling-level feature beams running along the centre of each area. Nominal cooling capacities of each VRV system range from 40 to 45 kW, with 45 to 50 kW of heating. All the outdoor units are in a purpose-built enclosure in the building’s car park. The air conditioning on each floor is controlled by a Daikin I-controller linked to remote wall-mounted temperature controllers to provide local adjustment throughout the office areas. March08, 85
