Heatrae Sadia Heating responds to challenges to electric heating market

To address new challenges in electric heating, Heatrae Sadia has restructured its sales and marketing teams. Future challenges for the industry are posed by the Government’s aim to reduce carbon emissions — with SAP ratings, energy performance certificates, the Code for Sustainable Homes and changes to the Building Regulations aiming to improve the energy efficiency of homes. To secure its future, Heatrae Sadia believes that the electric-heating industry needs to respond to these challenges with more efficient, energy-saving products and a comprehensive renewables strategy. To support the new strategy of Heatrae Sadia Heating, Spencer Clarke has been appointed sales and marketing director. He was previously sales director of Potterton and has worked in the heating industry for 15 years. Jon Cockburn, senior product manager, assumes responsibility for the day-to-day running of the marketing department. There is now a dedicated division for electric boilers, water heaters and panel heaters. Stephen Clarke says, ‘New legislation, changes to the Building Regulations and the Government’s continued focus on energy efficiency means there are fresh challenges ahead for the electric-heating industry. It’s therefore an exciting time to be joining Heatrae Sadia Heating, and we look forward to addressing the issues to ensure that electric heating products have a very positive future.’ Two senior figures are also leaving the company. After many years, sales and marketing director David Bradbrook has retired, and marketing manager David Webster, who was with the company for eight years, has decided to move on due to family circumstances.
