Toshiba inverter-controlled air conditioning was chosen for its heating capabilities to heat this church in Ireland.
To provide heating for the refurbished Roman Catholic church in Sligo, Ireland, Toshiba Super Digital inverter wall-mounted units have been installed. The parish priest, Father Martin, carried out extensive research into the most effective way of providing heating for the church, including considering geothermal heating. He explains, ‘The Toshiba units each provide 9 kW of heat, consuming 3.3 kW of power at a cost of just 56c per hour (at 100% output). The equipment has proven a great success, with comfort levels being achieved rapidly and quietly. The possibility of cooling is a bonus.’ Toshiba distributor GT Phelan supported installer Airflow Services in the design of the most appropriate system. The Toshiba A-rated inverter system was chosen on the basis of capital cost, convenience of installation, reduced carbon emissions and running costs. The indoor units were carefully incorporated into the choir balcony, and plasterwork on the walls was reformed to allow the wall units to be mounted around the church.
