Direct-flue option for Glow-worm combi boiler

Glow-worm
No visible flue — This high-efficiency combi boiler from Glow-worm has a direct rear flue option.
Glow-worm’s Flexicon cx boiler is said to be the only high-efficiency combi on the UK market with a direct rear-flue option and small enough to be fitted inside a kitchen wall cupboard. There are two boilers, with outputs of 24 and 30 kW and offering a 5 s response to demand for hot water. They deliver 9.6 and 12.3 l/min, respectively, through a 35 K temperature rise. Both units are 700 mm high, 390 mm wide and 280 mm deep. They have SEDBUK A rating. The small size of these boilers is made possible by using high-grade cast aluminium for the heat exchanger, a material that has excellent thermal conductivity. The direct rear flue is telescopic, so there is no need to cut to length. A fixing jig ensures the hanging bracket and jig are perfectly aligned. The design of the pre-fixing kit allows pre-installation and system testing before the boiler is connected. All copper tails are clip distance from the wall for easy connection to system pipework. A pull-out block for electrical connections eliminates the need to remove the front casing during installation or commissioning. These boilers can also be installed with volt-free controls, so that Part P approval is not required. An optional condensate pump enables cx boilers to be installed in places with restricted access to a drain.
