Stiebel Eltron exploits heat-pumps

steibel eltron
A range of heat-pump technologies for space heating is offered by Stiebel Eltron.
The Stiebel Eltron range of heat pumps comprises three types; air to water; brine to water; and water to water. They are claimed to achieve a COP of up to five. Air-to-water units can be combined with solar heating, underfloor heating or wet radiator systems. They use scroll compressors. The brine-to-water models are designed for larger houses and are available in four sizes. The heat source can be a well or the ground. Water-to-water units are the most efficient because the temperature of groundwater is a high 8 to 12°C — enabling a COP of five to be achieved. Groundwater in adequate quantity and quality is needed, with separate wells for delivery and return.
