Semiconductor specialist turns to Prolojik for PoE smart building tech

Prolojik, Arm Holdings, smart buildings, power over ethernet, PoE

Cambridge-based Arm Holdings, one of the world’s leading semiconductor design specialists, has used technologies from Prolojik in its new headquarters building.

Located on the Peterhouse Technology Park, Arm’s £90 million HQ is designed by Scott Brownrigg. It provides research, office and meeting spaces.

Prolojik has supplied a range of cutting-edge technologies to the building. The team delivered the detail design and all active equipment for what is one of the largest power over ethernet (PoE) lighting installations the business has ever installed. The project makes use of Prolojik’s Lightmatrix system. Working with more than a dozen installers, the team integrated its LX-LED drivers into a range of lighting equipment from downlighers to office lights and linear fittings. Over 6,000 light sources are controlled over PoE within the building.

The building also uses Prolojik’s Proxima Bluetooth location-based services (LBS) to manage lighting through occupancy sensing and illuminance data. People and assets can be tracked in the building, which also supports wayfinding, room bookings, space management, usage profiling and targeted messaging.

Other smart building technologies included in the project were an IP supervisor; hvac integration using an open protocol approach; and emergency lighting.
