Pipe Center ensures smooth progress for Center Parcs contract

Pipe Center, pipes, pipework

Pipe Center contributed to the smooth running of the M&E contract for Center Parc’s new village at Woburn Forest by setting up a secure offsite storage facility for components and materials at its nearby Marston Gate distribution centre. Located just four miles from Woburn Forest, the facility enabled Derry Building Services to access items around the clock as needed. Pipe Center replaced products as they were used.

There were restrictions on storage space on site and timed delivery schedules.

Derry’s contract involved installing M&E services for the pool and spa, leisure area, restaurant and hotel. The company designed and installed over a dozen plant rooms, including rooftop and internally sited facilities, linked to a district-heating system via plate heat exchangers.

Pipe Center supplied Georg Fischer Instaflex plastic pipe, fittings and related components which had been prefabricated at Georg Fischer’s facility in Coventry.

Brian Hughes, senior projects manager with Derry Building Services, said of the storage facility, ‘It was a creative and practical solution and helped us deliver an outstanding and timely result for the client.’
