Mikrofill helps Premier Inn move from oil to gas

Mikrofill, boiler, DHW, space heating

The huge programme of development of the Premier Inn at Norman Cross on the A1(M) near Peterborough includes a whole new plant room fitted out with Mikrofill boilers and hot-water system. The equipment was installed by Pipetech Mechanical.

The first stage was to remove the old oil-fired boilers and fuel store, followed by the installation of an LPG supply.

Two Mikrofill stainless steel condensing boilers with a maximum output of 700 kW and modulating down to 35 kW were installed.

These boilers generate heat for the 99 bedrooms and numerous conference suites. They also provide LPHW to a bank of Rapid Extreme hot-water loading systems, which ensure boilers remain in condensing mode to maximise efficiency while delivering over 2570 l/h of DHW at 60°C.
