Voltage optimiser helps meet Code Level 5

Voltage optimiser, Marshall-Tufflex, Green Deal, Golden Rule

The Sigma Home that forms part of BRE’s Innovation park in Watford is design to meet Level 5 of the Code for Sustainable Homes and includes a Voltis domestic voltage optimiser from Marshall-Tufflex. Rexel Energy Solutions, which was responsible for equipping the home with sustainable technologies, specified Voltis Home because of its close working relationship with Marshall-Tufflex and the cost and functionality of the system.

Development director Nick Smith says, ‘The visitor response has been very encouraging, with a good level of understanding from all parties. It’s a simple concept with a decent return.’

The system works by reduced the mains voltage to 218 V to reduce bills and prolong the life of appliances.
