Riegens lights up Kent’s Library & History Centre

The Lynx system is part of range of lighting from Riegens in Kent County Council’s Library & Historic Centre in Maidstone.

Riegens has supplied a wide range of lighting for the new Library & History Centre of Kent County Council in Maidstone. This purpose-built complex offers public access to more of the county’s archive material and a 21st-century library. Specified by Frankham Consultancy Group, Riegens was chosen to supply interior and exterior lighting and luminaires with special UV filters for areas housing historical papers to ensure no deterioration from the illumination.

The centre houses about 14 km of historic material relating to Kent and dating back to 699 AD. There is also a wealth of information on local history and a library with over 40 000 books, community history area, archive search room, digital studio and large space for displays and events.

A Riegens Lynx system installed by ETDE is used in the library to offer a lighting solution through modular construction. The luminaires are suspended from wires and have a soft oval profile. High-performance optics allow direct or indirect/direct lighting.

In the repository area, high-performance Corex Industry fittings supply a good direct-light source.

Other products include Concido Mini Pendant, Certus, Cirrus Wall, Casino Wall and DL-Eco downlighters.
