Wembley Stadium project wins two major awards for Honeywell

Honeywell’s building solutions business (HBS) has won the IP in Security Innovation award for best application for its work at Wembley Stadium. Honeywell was also selected for the innovation award over two other category winners — best software and best hardware. The judges commented that Wembley Stadium is ‘a fantastic example of system convergence, with impressive scale to boot’; it was also described as ‘a world-class example of an integrated solution’. Wembley Stadium has been called the most extensive building-integration project in the UK and is arguably the most technical advanced stadium in the world. To achieve flexibility, interoperability and efficiency, HBS created a common network for all technical services (HVAC, security, access control, public address/voice announcement and life-safety management) — along with data, voice and video communication. Honeywell designed, installed, commissioned, project managed and provided technical support for the entire project, which makes extensive use of Honeywell products and those of other manufacturers.
