Berkeley Hotel has full house of Daikin VRV

Daikin, VRV, air conditioning, VRF

All guests at London’s 5-star Berkeley Hotel near Hyde Park Corner in London now enjoy the benefits of Daikin VRV heat-recovery air conditioning with the conversion of the final 42 rooms to replace equipment from another manufacturer for which it was becoming difficult to obtain parts. The choice was determined by the other 160 guests rooms already having Daikin equipment.

The new installation includes seven condensing units on the roof, refrigerant piping for the 3-pipe system, branch selection boxes and, in all 42 rooms, slimline ducted fan-coil units and individual controllers. The controllers have a polished stainless-steel finish to match other detailing in the rooms.

The system is fully controllable via the hotel’s Debacs system, but guests can customise their comfort by selecting the mode of operation, fan speed and temperature setpoint.

The new equipment was installed by Accent Services, a Daikin D1+ installer, which was already looking after the hotel’s other Daikin systems.

A Saturday road closure was arranged for a crane lift, but bad weather caused the lift to be postponed to the following Saturday. With up to 15 engineers on site, Accent Services was still able to complete the project on schedule.
