PEL upgrades fire system for university campus in London

PEL Services, fire alarm, fire system

PEL Services has completed a contract to install fire alarms for the University of Liverpool campus in London as part of its latest refurbishment. A member of the Russell Group, this campus is in Finsbury Square in the City of London. It was originally built in the 1930s and accommodates 1300 students and 100 staff over seven floors.

As part of the £8 million refurbishment, the fire-detection system throughout the building was upgraded. Consisting of eight sets of loop panels with over 600 devices, PEL installed a further 150 new devices and repositioned around the same number to accommodate the change in building usage.

PEL Services has extensive experience in fire and security and has done a considerable amount of work in the education sector.
