Fire system monitors multiple sites from a single location

Notifier by Honeywell, which makes and supplies engineered fire-alarm systems, has developed a graphical user interface for organisations with multiple locations such as hospitals, retail chains, logistics operations and wind farms. IP connectivity enables OnyxWorks to monitor multiple sites from a single point.

When an event occurs and a detection device is triggered, OnyxWorks indicates the precise location of a map or building plan. Floor plans can be zoomed in and out, and all events are shown at the same time.

The use of IP rather than serial connect means there is no limit to the distance between panel and graphical workstation.

Security profiles prohibit unauthorised access. A history log provides a full audit trail by recording all event details and operators’ actions.

OnyxWorks also enables service and maintenance providers to install interfaces that enable them to monitor each site they manage directly from their offices.
