Teekay contributes to smooth running at the ’Walkie talkie’ building

Teekay, drainage, pipes, pipework
Connections for drainage pipework in the ‘Walkie talkie’ building in London are provided by a range of Teekay couplings.

Teekay pipe couplings have been used for key connections on cast-iron, galvanised-steel and copper drainage pipework in the ‘Walkie talkie’ building at 20 Fenchurch Street in London. The work was carried out by Fitzpatrick Mechanical Services in a contract worth £1 million.

Some Teekay couplings were used for joining pipework of different sizes, and the company also supplied couplings and flange adaptors that were specially made for the project.

Lee Rouvray, project manager with Fitzpatrick Mechanical Services, comments, ‘As a provider of installation services, we rely on the performance of our supply chain. The flexible approach adopted by Teekay has seen bespoke fittings from their factory in Milton Keynes arriving to site on a just-in-time basis, and this has been of great benefit to the project.

The building is due for completion in spring 2014.
