Preparing for a charity cycle trip across Andalucia — Grant Cryer of Myson (left)

Over £1000 has been raised as part a charity push by an apprentice with Tyneside heating-products manufacturer Myson. Grant Cryer, aged 18, will cycle 240 miles from Granada to Seville in Andalucia, Spain, in aid of the Action for Children charity in September and is fundraising to meet the £3000 target set for entry to the event.

A major dent on this target was made with the help of a quiz run by colleagues at Myson.

Grant, who has been with Myson for 18 months, While I have a long way to go with the training, the fundraising is now down to me to raise the remaining money ahead of what should be a great experience for a very worthy cause.’

Readers who would like to help can send a cheque payable to Action for Children to Kelly Smith, Myson, Eastern Avenue, Team Valley Trading Estate, Gateshead NE11 0PG.
