Air-conditioning manufacturer move to boost installation standards

Mitsubishi Electric Air Conditioning has set up new arrangements for contractors designed to boost standards and service. Called the ‘Business solutions partner programme’, it is based on documented standards for installation, commissioning, aftercare, health and safety and corporate social responsibility. These new standards mean that the ultimate customer can expect a professional level of service from the company and its partners. The programme is open to contractors of all sizes and offers a new and unique set of benefits. Participation is not a prerequisite to purchasing Mitsubishi equipment. Chris Harthman, commercial director, says, ‘As we expand our relationships with end users and their specifiers, it has become increasingly apparent that the air-conditioning industry has to up its game and respond to these new market conditions. Our partner programme sets the benchmark, and it’s what our customers expect.’ Robert Higgs, director of the Heating & Ventilating Contractors’ Association, has welcomed the programme. ‘The Mitsubishi initiative is very much in line with our efforts to raise standards and to boost the credibility of specialist firms in the building-engineering-services sector and is to be applauded.’ Explaining the scope of the programme, Donald Daw, product marketing manager, says, ‘From providing partners with hand-held computers and bespoke software to cut down on paperwork to free training, full online account access, commissioning software and hardware and 5-year warranty cover — we have looked at every way in which we can support our partners.’
