Tridium enhances its Vykon HVAC software

Smart-phone friendly, Tridium's latest Vykon HVAC software.

The latest version of Tridium’s Vykon HVAC software incorporates major new features to automate the creation of HVAC applications. One of the highlights of version 2.2 is a mobile-user interface to provide access to HVAC applications via an iPhone or other smart phone to allow easy adjustment of setpoints and access to logging histories, running parameters and alarms.

This new version also offers multi-station object linking to permit data to be shared with common applications such as fire, outside air temperature and time schedules, running across multiple Tridium JACE controllers.

System configuration is simplified through the creation of custom ‘application configuration views’ that give a clearer indication of what is linked and what can be configured. The introduction of automatic generation of PDF reports of all application settings, configuration and graphics views helps create ‘as-installed’ documentation.

A range of new applications has been built into the system. They include absolute night purge, holiday and time schedule.

Chris Irwin, regional director of Tridium’s EMEA region, says, ‘Our aim was to make Vykon HVAC an even more attractive and cost-effective way to engineer projects which results in higher-quality strategies and graphics for the end user and better profitability for the systems integrator.’

Integrators can select the HVAC equipment on their project from the application library. Vykon HVAC then automatically designs and produces a complete control solution that includes wiring schedules, I/O points, control strategy, graphics, alarms and histories and a description of operation. A wide range of industry-standard applications is available through the Vykon HVAC libraries to meet most plant configurations — ensuring instant familiarity, yet versatility, for the project engineer.

This software uses the full power of Tridium’s universal infrastructure Niagara AX framework to integrate diverse building-services systems, control devices and communications standards.
