Airedale launches packaged conderserless chillers

Chiller
Airedale’s Ultima RAC range of remote-air-cooled chillers use scroll compressors and offer cooling capacities from 75 to 450 kW.
Airedale has developed a range of remote-air-cooled chillers with high energy-efficiency ratios and cooling capacities from 75 to 450 kW. The 15 models are optimised for R407C. The Ultima RAC range has tandem or trio scroll compressors on dual, independent refrigeration circuits. The use of scroll compressors on chillers up to 450 kW is an innovative step for Airedale. Electronic expansion valves are fitted as standard, allowing superheat control in varying operating conditions and enabling the system to take advantage of times when operating load is below design values — which in Europe can be as much as 99% of the operating life of a system. Annual energy consumption and carbon emissions can be reduced by up to 25%. High-efficiency stainless-steel plate evaporators with insulation and pad heaters are standard. These chillers are available in standard, quiet and super-quiet variants and can be matched to remote dry coolers or evaporative condensers. Micro-processor controls give four to six stages of capacity.

New procurement rules for NHS suppliers

New procurement rules mean NHS suppliers will need to demonstrate their green credentials so the NHS can achieve its target of becoming net zero for directly-controlled emissions by 2040, with an ambition to reach an 80% reduction in its carbon emissions between 2028 to 2032.
