Lochinvar tops the game in Belfast

Replacing oil-fired plant to deliver 17 000 l/h of hot water for the City of Belfast Playing Fields are these two Lochinvar water heaters.
Up to 17 000 l/h of hot water can be provided for the City of Belfast Playing Fields in Mallusk by water heaters supplied by Lochinvar. The two copper-fin water heaters supply 100 shower heads serving 24 pitches and operate on the principle of low storage capacity and fast output. Delap & Waller, based in Antrim specified the equipment to replace an existing oil-fired and indirect hot-water system. It was installed by WJM Building Services of Belfast. David Pepper, managing director of Lochinvar, explains, ‘We worked with our customer on specification to ensure proper sizing of copper-fin water heaters, which have been connected to on-site storage tanks. The fan-assisted sealed combustion chamber of the CFW990CE optimises the gas/air ratio for consistently high operating efficiency, and the compactness of the equipment was also ideal, considering plantroom space was restricted. These playing fields are used for Gaelic football, soccer and cricket, as well as one-off community events. The refurbishment included the installation of new shower, modernised changing rooms and the conversion of two fields into Gaelic football pitches.
