Simmtronic controls the light in Cheapside office development

Simmtronic
Contributing to minimising the energy consumption of this office development near St Paul’s Cathedral are Simmtronic fully addressable lighting control systems.
Simmtronic Specs3 fully addressable lighting-control systems are being installed by Haden Young in the Cat A fitout of 150 Cheapside — a 19 000 m2 corporate office development overlooking St Paul’s Cathedral in London. This presence-based scheme was specified by Hilson Moran and encompasses eight floors of offices and core areas. It is required to minimise energy consumption and contribute to the building’s excellent BREEAM rating. In the commercial office areas, the lighting controls are being installed in the DALI protocol with dimming functions. Perimeter rows are being fitted with universal heads for daylight linking to dim or switch off lights in response to daylight penetrating through the full-height glass facades. In core areas, control is through hardwired switching circuits. Lighting in these common areas comprises compact fluorescent lamps and low-voltage decorative feature lighting. The reception is also hardwired and also has additional DALI controls with dimming functions for scene setting.
