New-generation drives save even more energy

F700
Another giant leap for inverter drives — Mitsubishi Electric’s F700 achieves instant optimisation.
A new series of variable-speed drives from Mitsubishi Electric is said to set new benchmarks for energy saving through the development of improved power circuits, coupled with the the advanced processing power of the latest electronics to provide enhanced power-control strategies. They are intended particularly for pumps and fans. The FR-F700 offers optimum excitation control for improved motor efficiency during constant-speed operation and acceleration periods. Torque patterns are also optimised and accurately match the power delivered to that required at any instant. Optimisation is effectively achieved instantly. Previous generations of technology could only optimise for energy efficiency under conditions of steady load or speed. The enhanced energy savings at lower speeds can achieve up to 12% extra energy savings against standard V/F performance. This feature is particularly significant as many fans and pumps are rated to cope with with occasional peak conditions. They therefore run for most of the time at low or very low loads. The energy being saved can be displayed on the operating panel as current power saving, percentage against set criteria, cumulative energy saving, cost savings and various averages over given time periods.
