LG continues to lead air-conditioning market

LG has been confirmed as the global leader in air conditioning — for the seventh consecutive year in a row. Over 10 million air-conditioning units were shipped by the company last year, for the third year in a row. According to Japanese market-research company Fuji-Keizai, 63 million air-conditioning units were sold worldwide last year, with LG responsible for 12.3 million units — 19.5%.This year, LG plans to expand its overseas production rate to 60%, with a production target of 16 million unit. The overseas production rate in 2006 was 55%, amounting to 14.8 million units.
