Ideal Commercial Boilers helps Rolls-Royce building serve new generation

Ideal Commercial, boiler, space heating

As part of a community and business-hub renovation project, Ideal Commercial Boilers has supplied an Evomax Cascade consisting of three Evomax 150 boilers and a multi-line flue cascade to Marble Hall, the former Rolls-Royce engine factory in Derby. Originally built in 1907, this former factory and office facility has been fully refitted to provide managed workspace and community hub.

Heating is by new boilers, radiators and radiant panels. The boilers were specified by Paul Lucas and Adam Whitehead of Palms Facilities. The BREEAM rating for the boilers is 66. The building has a BREEAM classification of ‘Very good’, putting it in the top 25% of new UK buildings.

Marble Hall has been a listed building since 2009 to protect original features such as the Tuscan-style polished limestone columns inside the former entrance. The building still has air-raid shelters below ground with thick steel doors.

Rolls Royce left the site in 2007 and donated the building, plus money towards the renovation, to Derby City Council.
