Gas-fired air conditioning serves new London restaurant

Sanyo gas-fired chillers serve the air-conditioning system in the third, and latest, Nobu restaurant in London.

Faced with an electricity supply that was inadequate for an electrically powered air-conditioning system, the new Nobu restaurant in the Mayfair area of London has opted for a gas-power solution. Consultants Environmental Energy Partnership specified Sanyo’s ECO G gas heat pump to provide cooling for the ducted system. Five 56 kW outdoor units on the roof produce chilled water to serve five air-handling plants, also on the roof. These chillers have a small footprint and produce very low noise levels, reducing the amount of acoustic screening required in this high-density urban setting.
