Voltage optimisation helps reduce electric bills for caravan park

Patrington Haven Leisure Park, a 5-star caravan park in Yorkshire, is expecting savings of over £23 000 a year on energy costs following the installation of a Powerstar voltage-optimisation solution to replace an inefficient 50-year-old distribution transformer. CO2 emissions are expected to be reduced by 144 t.

This park has a heating indoor swimming pool, fitness centre, multi-use sports court, bar and restaurant — all of which require heating and lighting every day of the year. The park has received a number of awards for its progressive approach to the environment, including a David Bellamy Gold Conservation award and a Yorkshire in Bloom award.

The new equipment is based on an HV Max super-low-loss amorphous-core distribution transformer with integrated electronic voltage optimisation. Savings are achieved by the efficiency of the transformer itself, electronic-dynamic voltage optimisation and a stabilised voltage output.
