Kooltherm insulates pipes for luxury apartments in London

One of the most luxurious apartment complexes in the UK includes Kingspan Tarec’s next-generation Kooltherm FM pipe-insulation system and insulated pipe-support inserts. 375 Kensington High Street in London has seven blocks with a range of apartments with one to three bedrooms. There is a private swimming pool, gym, cinema and 24-hour Harrods concierge service.

The Kingspan products are installed on all constant hot water and low-temperature hot-water services associated with the main energy centre.

The pipe insulation has thermal conductivities as low as 0.025 W/m/K, which helped M&E contractor Briggs & Forrester minimise the space requirements for building services, maintaining the clean lines and luxury aesthetics of the apartments.

Independent thermal analysis has shown that the insulated supports can reduce heat loss by up to 10 times compared with wooden-block supports.

Support Systems used Sikla steel framing to prefabricate the final pipework support solution, streamlining the installation process.
