Voltage optimiser stores excess electrical power

The Powerstar Virtue voltage-optimisation technology from EMSc uses excess voltage from the mains to charge a storage medium, rather than feed it back to the supply as induced negative power feedback. The stored electricity can be used at the most beneficial time to the user.

The system can also be integrated with on-site renewable energy systems such as solar PV, eliminating the need for inverters on such systems — helping to reduce the cost of renewable systems.

Sites will also benefit from reduced harmonics, voltage-phase balancing and improved power factor — as well as reduced maintenance costs for electrical equipment.

The system comes with a 100% savings guarantee — as offered with all Powerstar voltage-optimisation solutions.

Managing director Dr Alex Mardapittas says, ‘Energy storage is recognised in many studies as an important solution to address the growing energy problems, as it allows energy generated during periods of low demand to be stored locally and used at peak times.
