Qualitair controls ‘Street’ temperatures in Morrisons supermarkets

Morrisons
The specialist cooling requirements of food-preparation areas in Morrisons supermarkets are being met by Qualitair’s QLC range of low-temperature ceiling cassettes.
As part of the major refurbishment and conversion programme of Morrisons supermarkets, Qualitair QLC low-temperature ceiling cassettes are being installed in the Market Street area of each store. These areas consist of specialist food counters such as a fishmonger, baker and greengrocer. The concept is part of the company’s strategy to offer customers food that has been freshly prepared in the store. Unlike traditional blast chillers, the QLC combines a controlled environment that meets all food-safety directives with a comfortable working environment for employees. The units are installed in the ceiling void directly over preparation areas for meat and fish. Effective temperature control of food is essential to meet food-safety regulations and cannot be achieved with standard air conditioning. The QLC range can control temperature down to 6°C. Low-velocity, 4-way air discharge reduces cold draughts on staff and customers and has the advantage of eliminating the risk of product ‘burning’. www.eaton-williams.com
