David Cameron visits Vent-Axia factory
Fan manufacturer Vent-Axia recently welcomed Prime Minister David Cameron to its headquarters in Crawley to view assembly lines that were brought back to the UK from China. The new production lines have created 35 new jobs and increased the number of assembly staff on site by 50%.
The company invested over £350 000 in tooling for the new lines and building works to accommodate the new manufacturing.
‘Mr Cameron said, ‘I was very pleased to see what a positive effect reshoring has had on the company and meet the people who work there. Vent-Axia is a great example of a company that has brought manufacturing back to the UK.’
He also saw a cheque written do the company by former Prime Minister Winston Churchill for fans installed in 10 Downing Street in 1945. The cheque has never been banked and is displayed in Vent-Axia’s reception.
Vent-Axia employs 270 staff at Crawley.
