Hanovia UV for Hong Kong swimming centre

Hanovia, UK water treatment, chlorine, ozone
Hanovia UV disinfection is the chosen method of water treatment for a swimming complex in Hong Kong.

Victoria Park Swimming Complex in Hong Kong has installed 21 Hanovia UK disinfection systems to treat the water in three of its indoor pools and to disinfect harvested rainwater. The main 50 m competition pool, a 30 m multi-purpose pool and an indoor Jacuzzi are now all treated with UV. Recycled rainwater used for cleaning floors and flushing toilets is treated with UK.

UV treatment avoids the problems associated with chloramines produced by chlorinating pools.

The Hanovia systems for this project handle flows up to 1700 m3/h for the main competition pool right down to small flow rates for treating rainwater.

A significant benefit of Hanovia’s UK systems is that they only use power when treatment is required, which can have a significant impact on a pool operator’s energy bills.

Al the UK systems are located after sand filters in the pool and rainwater-treatment processes.
