What goes up ... Elta Zoo destratification units at high level are improving comfort and saving energy for Mercedes Benz.

58 destratification units supplied by Elta Fans for the Mercedes Benz plant at Tankersley in South Yorkshire are improving thermal comfort and saving energy. The plant is owned by the multi-national division of Mercedes and produces long-distance, distribution, construction and municipal commercial vehicles.

The Zoo SDF 250 mm units direct warm air at high level down to the lower levels where people are working — making better use of the heat and reducing thermal loss through the roof.

These ceiling-mounted units are available in two standard sizes — 250 and 300 mm. They incorporate Ziehl-Abegg’s FE2 Owlet impeller for good aerodynamic properties and low noise levels. Zoo fans are fully speed controllable and suitable for operating temperatures of up to 70°C. Air volumes are 2100 and 2400 m3/h.

Applications include factories, sports halls, stores, industrial units and warehouses.
