Training boost for environmental technologies

The National Skills Academy for Environmental Technologies has opened a new centre at its Blackburn College hub. The £7 million Sir Bill Taylor Futures Centre includes a replica eco-house, advanced manufacturing workshops, a television studio, radio station and a cinema.

Cathryn Hickey, executive director of the National Skills Academy, said, ‘The quality of the facilities available at Blackburn College is second to none, and they are able to meet current and future delivery requirements in a exciting learning environment.’
