Intelligent controller makes best use of solarPV electricity

4eco, solarpv, photovoltaic, hot water, DHW

An intelligent controller developed by 4eco for solarPV systems is designed to maximise the use of power in the building and minimise the amount exported to the grid by using the electricity to produce hot water. ImmerSUN monitors the power available from a PV system and uses it for electrical appliances whenever required. Surplus power is used for heating water, and only when that demand is satisfied is power exported to the grid.

The cost saving for heating water in this way is said to give a payback period of three to five years, and there is no effect on earnings received from the Feed In Tariff or the export tariff.

An immerSUN can be retrofitted, with no need to change the immersion heater.
