National Skills Academy for Environmental Technologies, Solar PV, renewable energy

To provide installers of solar-thermal and solar-PV systems with the background knowledge required to install, commission, service and maintain this equipment, the National Skills Academy for Environmental Technologies has produced a series of learner manuals. They support delivery of the QCF Level 3 awards (Qualifications & Credit Framework) in these disciplines, but are also available as stand-alone documents that are useful for anyone looking to increase their knowledge — either during training, prior to up-skilling or as reference material.

Cathryn Hickey, executive director of the skills academy, says, ‘Training should not end in the classroom, and these guides will help installers maintain their knowledge — acting as useful reference material while in the workplace.’
