Rinnai showers benefits on happy campers

Roger Hall, owner of a small and picturesque caravan and camping site near York has been an enthusiastic user of Rinnai gas-fired continuous-flow water heaters for nearly 10 years. Moor End Farm was established in 1965 in the village of Acaster Malbis. Facilities include hot showers, toilets with disabled access and a dishwashing sink.

It was in 2005 that he wanted to double the number of showers from two electric 8 kW instant showers to four when the site complied with the Disability Act. It was then that a washroom for families was built that would also cater for the needs of disabled people on the 14-pitch touring site.

Roger Hall explains, ‘The addition had one large double show, and we realised that staying with electric water heating was not feasible without a major upgrade to the electricity supply.’

Having chanced on a Rinnai advertisement in the magazine of the British Holiday & Parks Association, he put a Rinnai 69 kW unit to the test with LPG.

After two trouble-free years with the Rinnai water heater, I decided that the 26-year-old LPG multi-point servicing the now five hand basins and pot-wash area had given good service but really did lack volume at peak times.

‘I had no hesitation in replacing the old multi-point with another Rinnai unit to further enhance our hot-water system. Now, nine and seven seasons, respectively, down the line, I have had no problems whatsoever with these water heaters.’

And a final comment from Chris Goggin, associate director operations with Rinnai, ‘We were extremely pleased when following a Rinnai marketing campaign targeting holiday-park customers we received a response from Roger says, : “Already installed and giving trouble-free service”.’
