Altecnic delivers comfort to luxury apartments

Altecnic, DHW, space heating, community heating, heat interface unit

Heating and hot-water for the 115 luxury apartments of Elizabeth House, which overlooks Wembley Stadium in north London, are provided by Altecnic indirect heat interface units. The SATK30103 units have electronic control valves for fast response and built-in energy-efficiency measures. They can deliver up to 15 kW of heat and 50 kW to DHW.

Working with Grove System Design, mechanical consultant for the project, Altecnic made recommendations on boiler and buffer-vessel sizing, applicable diversity factors and expected primary pipework flow rates. This reduced capital costs without compromising performance.

They were installed by M&E contractor Box & Charnock.

Among the features of these heat interface units is a heating-circuit pressure sensor. If a leak occurs, the pump in the unit is shut down to protect it from damage and minimise disruption to the apartment.

A trickle bypass delivers hot water quickly, and the heating flow temperature is compensated.

A display enables heating and hot-water temperatures to be easily set, reducing commissioning time.
