Fireray continues to protect Dubai International Airport

Fireray, fire protection
The huge expanses of this new concourse at Dubai International Airport are protected by Fireray beam smoke detectors.

Fire protection for the new Concourse A of Dubai International Airport is provided by 265 Fireray end-to-end infra-red beam smoke detectors as part of the overall fire-protection system. There is now a total of 860 Fireray products installed in the airport’s four terminals, all of which have high-ceilinged indoor areas.

The new concourse is built to accommodate the double-deck Airbus A380 and comprises 528 000 m2 across 11 floors. It can handle 15 million passengers a year.

Fireray detectors can detect smoke over a distance of 100 m between the transmitter and receiver heads. They also have minimalist visual impact and are easy to install. The first Fireray products at this airport were installed 15 years ago.
